People are shit.  Any attempt to remove the shit bits of humanity will inevitably result in totalitarianism.  Slavoj Zizek said something along these lines, I think.  Having once walked past Zizek outside Waterstones during a storm I think I’m qualified to channel him anyway.

I reckon sexual fetishes function to let us play out our dormant shitness.  I mean that’s one of their functions.  One of their usefullnesses.  People chat shit about human nature.  The capitalist rhetoric is that people are by nature competitive.  Some less pragmatic anarchists will tell you that people are by nature co-operative.  There’s no scientific basis for this.  People are capable of loads of shit.  We can be competitive and co-operative, it’s quite easy to see, because, looking around you, people are being both competitive and co-operative.  Competition is the dominant behaviour in the capitalist system, reinforced by it’s functionality and through socialisation.  I’m an anarchist and I want to live in a society where co-operation becomes the dominant behaviour.  My fetishes revolve around selfishness, greed, monetary social exchanges, domination, and status.  These behaviours are my dormant shitnesses that I play out through sexual fetish.  They don’t come out in everyday life because I think they’re harmful.

Let’s work together for a better society where people work to nourish their communities, not the bellies of the ruling class, let’s work together for a better society where everyone has an equal stake in every single sense, regardless of their gender expression, disability, race, sexuality, accent or anything else.   And then, let’s go to a basement, and fuck each other up.
